FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: Watters Celebrates 58 Years of Garden Classes

February 15, 2020, Prescott, Arizona
The turn to a new year starts an entirely new series of free garden classes each season.  This year is no exception.  Since the garden centers start Watters has offered free garden classes every Saturday through spring.

A small business has to be famous for something to open our doors for the past 58 years.  “Our philosophy from the very beginning is be known as the local garden expert, then teach others how to be the same.” originally said Harold Watters, found of the company.

“As the second-generation owner of the garden center we don’t want to change what has made us famous all these years,” says Lisa Watters-Lain.  “ We have some inspiring classes lined up for 2020.”

March 7 @ 9:30 am – Evergreen Landscapes and Bark Beetle Prevention

This class covers the evergreens that grow most successfully and the simple steps to protect them from stress and environmental intruders like borers and bark beetle.

March 13 @ 3 pm- Gardening 101 – Proper Planting in Mountain Soils

We’ll take an in-depth look at how to be successful when planting your personal paradise, with advice from Watters Planting Crew.

March 14 @ 9:30 am – New Plant Introductions for 2020

Advanced gardeners and newcomers alike will learn about all-things-spring this weekend as we go geeky with plants.

March 20 @ 3 pm – Growing Better Peonies this Spring

This class is an in-depth introduction to these flower powerhouses and all the companion plants that grow so well with them. You will be a Peony pro after this week’s class!

March 27 @ 3 pm – Lilacs and Better Fragrant Gardens

Lilacs have come a long way from your grandmother’s garden, with new colors, shapes, sizes, and fragrances for the style of any gardener.
