Customer Garden Care & Cashier

We are looking for new talent to fill full-time and part-time seasonal Cashier positions in a respected, fast-paced, and FUN family-owned business. Being a cashier at Watters Garden Center is very important because in most cases, the first person a customer meets is the cashier!

We like working together and believe we are strongest as a team. WE DON'T WORK NIGHTS. We are in retail and open seven days a week, but we are super flexible and can work with students and parents, too. You will be home for breakfast and dinner each day, even on the busiest days. We offer generous employee discounts for the best plants in town if you like to garden. We want you to learn how to garden at Watters Garden Center and give you the incentive to try something new in your gardens.

You are going to be a garden pro. We like the digital age and genuinely need you if you're good with computers, counting back change, and keeping your cool when lines of gardeners want to check out simultaneously. Did we mention you will be a garden pro after just one spring season here at Watters?

Basic computer knowledge and experience with the Point Of Sale system are pluses. Duties include greeting customers when entering or leaving our establishment, providing excellent, professional customer service, making sales referrals, cross-selling products and introducing new ones, accurately ringing up sales, bagging items, honoring coupons, collecting payment, and giving appropriate change. Responsible for counting the contents of the cash register drawer at the end of each shift, maintaining clean and tidy checkout areas, and pleasantly dealing with customers to ensure satisfaction. May be responsible for checking materials and supplies and reporting when stock is low. Cashiers frequently stand for long periods, repeat the same movements, and use their hands to handle, control, or feel objects, tools, or controls.

Here's what we believe, and if you like what we like, please apply ASAP. Follow the link, download the application from our website, print it, and bring it to the garden center during regular business hours. We pay well, but way more important than the money, we like and support each other. If you are a loner, don't apply; if it's only about the money, don't apply; if you don't like excellent customer service, your colleagues or people in general then for the sake of gardening don't apply!
