The 'BerryBux' Blueberry is the revolutionary plant you need! Bred to mimic the dense, globe-like shape of a boxwood, this dwarf shrub offers the perfect, low-growing structure for borders or foundation planting, but with a delicious twist: it produces full-sized, sweet, wild-flavored blueberries in summer. You’ll also enjoy its beautiful orange and red fall color!
Ideal for Zones 5 through 8, 'BerryBux' needs Full Sun exposure—essential for the highest berry yield and the richest fall color. It maintains a naturally compact, mounding form, maturing at a small size of 2 feet tall and wide, making it perfect for small gardens, containers, or formal edging where space is limited. As a woody blueberry, its foliage is naturally resistant to deer and rabbit browsing once established. It is self-pollinating, but planting with another dwarf blueberry will encourage an even better harvest.
Like all blueberries, 'BerryBux' requires acidic, moisture-retentive soil. When planting, dig a wide, shallow hole and blend the native soil generously with Watters Premium Mulch. This is critical for improving structure, holding moisture, and lowering the soil's pH. Then, mix in Watters 7-4-4 All-Purpose Plant Food with the soil blend—this gentle, balanced nutrient package supports strong root growth and provides the energy needed for a productive harvest from this little powerhouse plant.
