Hoya Krohiana 'Eskimo'

The Hoya krohniana 'Eskimo' is a breathtaking, miniature trailing vine that proves your journey of botanical discovery can flourish right inside your home. You will want this charming houseplant in your living space because its tiny, teardrop-shaped leaves are heavily splashed with a frosty silver speckling, creating a shimmering cascade that looks like it was gently dusted with winter snow. It is an incredible trailing plant that looks stunning spilling over the edges of a small hanging basket or resting gracefully on a high bookshelf. While it grows vigorously when given the proper care, a potted 'Eskimo' remains wonderfully compact indoors, typically trailing to a manageable length of 2 to 3 feet. It is the perfect choice for the everyday gardener who wants the lush, intricately patterned look of an exotic tropical vine but needs a forgiving plant that actually thrives on a bit of benign neglect.

To keep that signature frosty silver variegation looking vivid and eventually encourage clusters of sweet-smelling blooms, you need to provide your plant with bright, indirect sunlight. Placing it near an east or west-facing window is ideal; this gentle light gives it the energy it needs without scorching the delicate foliage in the harsh afternoon sun. Because this Hoya holds water in its thick, succulent-like leaves, the secret to watering is patience. You must let the top two to three inches of the potting soil dry out completely before giving it a thorough soak to protect the shallow roots from rotting. For households with curious animals, you will be thrilled to know the Hoya krohniana 'Eskimo' is completely non-toxic and pet-safe, making it a worry-free addition to your indoor garden collection. Give it bright light, hold back on the watering, and this shimmering vine will flourish alongside you for years.
