If you love a Sugar Maple's classic beauty and fall color but have limited space, or desire a more formal, vertical accent in your landscape, 'Northwind' is an excellent choice. It won't spread wide like other maples, making it ideal for tighter spots along driveways or property lines.

Throughout the summer, 'Northwind' displays attractive, dark green foliage that is also notably heat and drought-tolerant once established – a real plus for our Arizona summers. Then, as the cooler temperatures of autumn arrive, you'll be treated to a beautiful display of yellow to orange fall color, a lovely contrast to the more common reds.

'Northwind' prefers full sun and well-drained soil. It's also known for its strong branching, which makes it more resistant to wind and ice damage.
