The Ginny Philodendron, though often called by that name, is actually a Rhaphidophora tetrasperma. In the garden center, we call it the "Mini Monstera" because it sports those same iconic split leaves as the big guys but stays in a much more manageable, compact size. If you love the tropical look of a jungle vine but do not have the room for a monster-sized plant, Ginny is your best friend.
She is a vigorous climber, so I always recommend giving her a moss pole or a cedar trellis to scramble up; it really encourages those leaves to develop their beautiful deep splits, or "fenestrations." Keep her in a spot with bright, indirect light—think of the dappled sun under a rainforest canopy. When it comes to water, she likes to stay moist but never soggy. Use a well-draining mix like Watters Potting Soil and water only when the top inch of soil feels dry.
