SEED STARTER MIX POTTING SOIL 8qt

Seed Starting Potting Soil - this stuff is specially formulated to give your seedlings the best possible start in life. It’s finer, lighter, and more nutrient-balanced than regular potting soil, which is crucial for those delicate young roots.   

First, you'll want to choose a good seed starting tray or small pots. Fill them with your seed starting mix, leaving about a half-inch of space at the top. Moisten the soil thoroughly, but don’t soak it. You want it damp, not dripping.

Now, it’s time to sow your seeds. Follow the instructions on your seed packets for planting depth and spacing. Generally, smaller seeds are scattered on the surface, while larger seeds are planted a little deeper. Cover the seeds lightly with the seed starting mix.   

Keep the soil consistently moist. You can use a spray bottle to mist the surface, or water from the bottom by placing the tray in a shallow dish of water. Avoid overwatering, which can lead to damping-off, a common seedling disease.   

Place your seed trays in a warm, bright location. Seedlings need plenty of light to grow strong and healthy. Once they’ve developed their first true leaves, you can start feeding them with a very diluted liquid fertilizer.  

Seed starting mix is a bit of an investment, but it’s well worth it. You're giving your seedlings the best possible start, which translates to healthier, more vigorous plants down the line.
