FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: Seven Years and He Finally said YES!

May 4, 2023, Prescott, Arizona

In year one, she asked him to dance, and the answer was ‘Maybe later.’ Do you wanna dance was asked for the past seven years with the same response until this spring. Dancing for the Stars Carie Hughes will finally be on stage with Ken Lain, owner of Watters Garden Center, for this year’s Boys & Girls Club, Dancing for the Stars. “There are so many worthy community causes I couldn’t say yes earlier without hurting those we already support.” says Ken Lain, “This year, everything changed!”

Ken Lain will dance with professional Carie Hughes for season 7 of the Boys & Girls Club of Central Arizona’s Dancing for the Stars. Seven years in the making, Carie has danced professionally for the kids since season one. “This year is going to be amazing dancing with Ken. Our passions and talent align on the dance floor and in our community. We hope to make the kids proud and raise a lot of money for the Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Arizona.” says Carie Hughes.

The 2023 Dancing for the Stars is performed live at the Yavapai College Performance Arts Center on August 25 and 26. Dancing has already begun, with sponsors and performer voting taking place now.

How to Win? Couples win the competition in three ways. #1 the money raised through sponsorship and how many $20 votes they receive from the community. #2 Selling tickets to the live event on August 25 & 26, and finally, #3 their actual dance performance on stage. It’s a pressure-packed event for dancers and lively entertainment for the community.

Dancing for the Stars is the Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Arizona’s dance competition featuring local celebrities partnered with professional dance instructors for dazzling performances. The sell-out event draws thousands to a filled auditorium.

Carie and Ken request your votes for this year’s Dancing for the Stars event. “Two dancers came close to raising $100,000 last year.” says Ken Lain, “We want to shatter this year’s ceiling and raise more for the two Boys & Girls Clubs in Central Arizona. Please support us.”
