Can you tell us what these gnat like black bugs are that have invaded the area? They bite and leave quarter size welts that itch for days. Usually we are plagued with the No-See-Ums which bite in the same like manner, however these little critters appear to look like specks of pepper. Any info you can share on dealing with them will be greatly appreciated.
Sounds like Thrip, but it could also be a flea beetle. Google each to see if they are a match. Either way, spray the area with my, ‘Multi Purpose Insect Spray’ for controls of this pest:) Ken
